Remembering Our REAL WHY

In all our

let us remember our REAL WHY.

I spent the past Sunday with Kris and our girls, and my cheeks still hurt from the incessant smiling. We practiced reckless indulgence in ourselves and in each other.  We…

laughed
loved
ate
roughhoused
discussed

LISTENED

and it reminded me to remind YOU that in all your DOING, please remember WHY.

Why you choose to spend your time this way
Why you work where you work
Why you’re with who you’re with
Why you keep pressing on, even when it feels like this…

Woman Stressed

Remember that it isn’t about millions of fans, followers, site hits, or even dollars…

Those are all welcome, of course, but if you allow yourself to just stop and stare a bit, you might find that many of your DOINGS aren’t directly related to your REAL WHY. It may be time to make that assessment, so you can…

DO LESS and BE MORE.

It is then that you can keep the path clear for your REAL WHY.

WHY you love so hard
WHY you must press on
WHY your talents are of so much value
WHY your loved ones deserve your attention
WHY you cannot keep neglecting your own needs

BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE WHYS THAT MATTERS MOST.

Love this Akilah! Your “reason why” also serve as a test for each new thing you’re considering adding into your life – or the things you’re contemplating letting go. Does this add or take away from my “reason why”?

    •  Exactly, Yavonna! That’s a good self-check practice to keep ourselves aligned with our real cravings.  Thanks for stopping by!

  •  You’re most welcome, LadyLovely! We all need that reminder from time to time.

It is so great that I read this post today after receiving a very healing reflexology treatment , which I needed so bad. The treatment and your post makes me remember the WHY. Thank you !

    •  You’re welcome, Sandra! Glad you prioritized yourself with that treatment and this post! As always, I appreciate you stopping by, sis!

Great read. Thanks for the reminder! Reflecting (on all the things getting your attention) and reconnecting (with your real why) is SO important!
